Monica's Piano Musings
I live in a Chicago suburb and work in downtown Chicago. I was a stay-at-home mom while my sons were growing up and practiced my piano every chance I could get….which wasn't very often in the early days when in addition to being a wife and mother, I was also a Cub Scout leader, church choir accompanist, a newsletter editor, and taught piano lessons to the kids in the neighborhood. Gradually, as my kids got older, I had more time to spend practicing. Around 10 years ago I stumbled upon a classical piano web site called Piano Society. It’s a site dedicated to hosting free classical piano recordings made by its members. After hanging out there for a while, I decided to start making my own recordings. To this day, I've made approximately 550 recordings. My earlier recordings are not the best sound quality, because I didn't know what I was doing regarding where to place my recorder, input level, etc....plus, all the tools available on the editing program that I didn't understand. I know more today about all that, but there is still much to learn. I don't mind, though. I enjoy experimenting with making recordings, and I love playing piano!
